About

Groovy Little Movers is passionate about enabling young children to develop their full potential, learning through music, movement, and song. Our holistic approach to learning captures children’s attention and imagination, developing their coordination and creativity alongside listening, language, numeracy, and social skills.

Since its launch in 2013, Groovy Little Movers has taught over 4500 classes across Solihull and Birmingham. From small beginnings, it has developed and expanded its services to provide a range of online resources, training courses, workshops, and Continuing Professional Development. The combination of in person classes and access to online music and video resources provides a supportive framework for teachers as they embed Groovy Little Movers into their curriculum.

Classes are structured with a balanced mix of repeated and new content, so learning builds week by week. Children develop their fine and gross motor skills, balance, muscle tone and posture, as they move using a variety of props and instruments. Skills of communication and language develop as they listen to and learn phonetic sounds, songs and signs. Social skills and understanding of their physical and emotional well-being are developed as children work with others to take turns, learn how their bodies respond to exercise, how to slow down and regulate their emotions.

Groovy Little Movers has its own original music, created in collaboration with Andrew James. Our music and songs not only support the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, but they sound great too.
